What is the counterculture?
It was a group or subculture that runs counter to the thoughts or ideas those of the social mainstream of the day.
What was the counterculture movement?
This movement express the ethos aspirations and dreams of a specific population during
their time era.
Where did the term Counterculture come from?
Counterculture came from the news media that refer to the "social revolution" that was happening
around them everyday.
Sixties and Seventies Counterculture:
It all began in the U.S later on Russia and Asia will have their own counterculture movement.
The movement started because of the social norms, segregation and the Vietnam War. This all affected
the way people started feeling about their government many didn't want to vote or go to Institutions.
The media and government referred to this people as "hippies". Hippies were the largest counterculture
group in the U.S. They fought for racial equality women's rights, sexual liberation and prohibitions against
recreational drugs.
What was the art and music scene like?
During this time music had a huge part in influencing people to do drugs and live a care free life and fight
for no war. Psychedelic rock was also created during this time period. The bands that had the greatest effect
on people where The Beatles, The Doors, The Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan. Pop art also played a huge part in
what artist were expressing in their art and to the people. Andy Warhol came out of this era and so did Edie Sedgwick
he was the one that painted the huge soup cans.
How did the Transgender counterculture play a role?
They had any openly gay political organizations such as the Mattachine Soviet. They protested against war and
abusive treatment on gays. They also thought gays should be respected. They had one major movement it was called
Stonewall it was in New York City it was for American gay rights.

This is helpful information, but somehow a lot of the words are cut off on the right side-- this is probably a formatting thing with typing in Word or whatever and then copying and pasting-- see if you can fix that.

I don't know much about this topic but it sounds very interesting. I look forward to reading more about it.
