The Counterculture became obsolete after the 1970's. Today we have a new group which is called the Subculture. The subculture is a group of people today with different cultures and ideas from their parents and other older people. Many sociologist think the subculture us are very sub absorbed and materialist. We aren't really into getting an education and all we want to do in life is make money the easy way and get rich. You can identify who belongs to each subculture by where they live the people they hang out, what music they listen to the kind of hair they are rocking and their fashion style. There are to main groups Punk subculture and Urban subculture. Punks are the ones that have the crazy style and don't want to answer to any type of authority. While urban subculture are the ones that fit in with the crowd and don't mind doing what they are told. Many think after this generation there will be a new subculture to fit their times and ideas. Is there a group for the people in between the two groups?
Info is helpful, but you need a citation (source), to use two vocab words, and to do some editing (two not to, materialistic, etc.)
It would be interesting to do a blog on the differences between hippies, punks, and beatniks. That's more history than today, but it could be fun.
